Golden BLK Candle Lounge was founded by Ebony Burks, a visionary creative and community architect who believes that the most powerful spaces are the ones that invite people to slow down and truly connect.
What began as a love for scent, ambiance, and intentional design evolved into something far more expansive. For Ebony, candle-making was never just a craft — it was a gateway to presence, ritual, and shared experience. As guests gathered around the table, it became clear that they weren’t simply creating candles; they were creating moments.

December 2021, Ebony secured studio space in downtown Dallas and officially opened in February 2022; Golden Blk Candle Lounge was born - a warm, inviting space that encouraged people to gather, explore their senses, and participate in the unique joy of candle-making.
Today, Golden BLK Candle Lounge stands as a living testament to Ebony Burks’ unwavering commitment to community and shared experience — a tribute to the legacy of her grandmother’s love, hospitality, and celebration.

Ebony approached Golden BLK with the same care one might give to a well-composed editorial — every detail considered, every element purposeful. From clean-burning soy-coconut wax to thoughtfully layered programming, Golden BLK was designed to feel elevated yet welcoming, refined yet deeply human.
Her vision was clear: create a modern third space — one that exists beyond home and work — where creativity, conversation, and community could coexist effortlessly.

MEET OUR FOUNDER
Ebony Burks is a Dallas-based founder with an intuitive understanding of how space, scent, and intention shape human connection. In the midst of global uncertainty, she responded not with haste, but with care — creating Golden BLK Candle Lounge, a place designed for warmth, calm, and gathering.
Originally conceived as a candle brand, Golden BLK quickly revealed its deeper purpose. What began with hand-poured candles evolved into a cultural living room of sorts — a space where creativity, wellness, and community coexist with ease. Guests arrive to make candles, but often stay for the conversation.
Ebony’s work is guided by a natural sense of hospitality. She is a curator of experiences, a thoughtful educator, and a quiet connector of people. Her leadership is marked by intention rather than spectacle, and by an understanding that true luxury is found in how a space makes you feel.
Influenced by her love of food, music, and long, unhurried conversation, every Golden BLK gathering feels considered yet effortless. At its foundation, however, is Ebony’s devotion to family and chosen community — values that shape the rhythm of the lounge and the relationships built within it.
For Ebony, community is not a concept to be marketed, but a practice to be lived. Through Golden BLK, she continues to create space for people to slow down, show up, and feel at home — one scent, one table, one shared moment at a time.
